Treespear is excellent, but the stat investment is kinda hefty for early game. I used a sacred claymore for a good 1/2 of the game, and even went back to it at the very end (for nostalgia's sake). The claw pure holy claws (damn latin-y name always escapes me) are also pretty solid, and come with built-in dual wield, but they don't use strength.
